IIT Delhi incubated. iDEX Winner. Proven at altitude.
Vayudh is India's indigenous nano surveillance drone company, building field-tested UAV systems and swarm technologies for defence and security.

Our Mission
India's defence capability can't depend on foreign technology. Every imported component is a vulnerability. Vayudh exists to close that gap.
We build indigenous UAV solutions, designed, made, and tested entirely in India. No imported components. No foreign software. No supply chain risk.

Through field-validated surveillance systems, we're building the capability India's defence forces need.
Our Journey
Vayudh began at IIT Delhi with research into nano drones and autonomous swarm behaviour. A decade of R&D turned that into an operational reality.
In 2019, we flew India's first tactical drone swarm at Army Day, Manekshaw Centre. Ten drones, forty-five minutes, coordinated autonomous flight, and in front of India's defence leadership.
In 2023, we won the iDEX Grant from India's Defence Innovation Organisation to build a nano drone for special forces reconnaissance. That became ATRI: sub-250g, day and night capable, AES-256 encrypted, 2km range.
In 2025, Project Tawang tested surveillance in extreme weather at high altitude.
We're not building toward operational capability. We've built it.

CORE TEAM
Meet the Founders
Tanmay Bunkar, Co-Founder and CEO
Tanmay started in experimental rocketry, an unusual entry point that shaped how he builds systems that cannot fail under physical constraints. He led India's first homegrown swarm drone technology and has spent a decade pushing for India's self-reliance in UAV systems. Named among India Today's NEXT 100 Innovators.

Dr. Sarita Ahlawat, Co-Founder and MD
Dr. Ahlawat holds a PhD from the University of Illinois and moved from research into building deep-tech. She brought scientific rigour to Vayudh's hardware development early, when most Indian defence startups were still at the concept stage. She demonstrated ATRI to the Prime Minister at MeitY Startup Hub and leads Vayudh's technical strategy.

Anuj Barnwal, Co-Founder and CTO
Anuj focuses on autonomous systems: how a drone decides, adapts, and executes in contested environments without constant human input. His work powers ATRI's autonomous flight and the swarm coordination shown at Army Day 2019.
